We Must Have Trust in Each Other

The second tenant of Tae Kwon Moo Do TRUST goes to the root of the positive development of the total individual.   The definition of TRUST simply is “that upon which confidence is to have or place”.     Synonymous with TRUST are the words faith, confidence, reliance and dependence”.

You may ask:  What does this mean?  Who is it that we should bestow our confidence? What does it mean in action?  All Tae Kwon Moo Do students should attempt to practice the element of TRUST.  They should practice to build up their character and to conduct their training in an orderly and courteous manner.

  • TRUST means that as a student we will listen to our instructors.  Every time I reflect on this I think about our old Master, Grand Master Oh,  telling people to close their eyes before giving them a tap to the forehead … that’s the definition of Trust.. and what you will get if you don’t listen to your instructors.
  • TRUST means that as an instructor we believe our students will observe the tenets of Tae Kwon Moo Do both inside and outside class.
  • TRUST means that we will work for the improvement of each of our fellow students.
  • TRUST means that as a student I shall display self control both in class and in our own personal affairs.  Without self-control, a Tae Kwon Do student is just a gangster. Loss of self-control is devastating both in class and in our personal affairs.

Most importantly TRUST means we are one big Tae Kwon Moo Do family and can depend on each other for support and help.    We have faith and confidence in each other as family members.
